A new companion for Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout New Vegas Classic Goris Mod is a free-to-use game utility from Wombat. This add-on gives you a new companion for the hit RPG game, Fallout: New Vegas, in the form of an albino Deathclaw companion. Its monstrous form aside, this is a fully intelligent character that is mostly reliable as you travel around the post-apocalyptic landscapes of what was formerly known as Las Vegas.
Fallout New Vegas Classic Goris Mod works well even with other mod, and its main purpose is achieved very well–expect a unique behavior, a companion perk, and even all-new animations.
Travel with Goris
The titular companion in Fallout New Vegas Classic Goris Mod is an albino Deathclaw companion. Although he is mostly robed as you travel, you see the Deathclaw within during fighting. Also, this is not an instant spawn; you have to follow a specific questline in order to unlock this companion. This offers a backstory and adds immersion to the experience.
To complete the experience of adding a new companion character, it has a pretty creative design. Of course, traveling with a mutated monster would obviously rouse suspicion, which explains the robe. It also comes with a couple of original animations on top of what already exists for the base model. It has the Terrifying Presence companion perk, too, designed to give you an advantage across New Vegas.
Still, this mod is far from perfect. For one, the Classic Goris storyline doesn’t develop beyond the quest. Also, while the companion is described as intelligent, no voice lines are assigned to this additional creature. Having this Deathclaw by your side has its own pros and cons, too. For example, its perk has a higher-than-usual proc. On the other hand, Goris can’t swim, which will affect your navigation choices.
A fun New Vegas add-on
Fallout New Vegas Classic Goris Mod is a step in the right direction, although it has a couple of opportunities for improvement. Unlike most content mods, its main offering has to be achieved like any other content in-game, by working for it. The questline and the character designs make sense. Adding voice lines or expanding the storyline would be a great help for this promising mod.
